Hello everyone. I was hoping someone could shed a little light on a question that has me rubbing my head a bit. I own a 10 piece 1979-80 Slingerland 651T Time Machine set. Over the last several months I have gotten the urge to perhaps part ways with it. The size for the snare drum is 6-1/2 x 14 (chrome over brass)and is even listed as such in the original 1979 catalogue. Every web site i've researched never makes reference to the 1/2 inch. Is it safe to assume that the snares I see listed for sale on e-bay graigs list etc as 6 x 14 are actually the same snare?
Maybe a silly question Last viewed: 2 hours ago
Is this your snare drum? http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/catalogs/slingerland/1979-slingerland-snaredrums2.jpg

Vintage, Yes thank you. Your second post is actually one of the books I was referencing. notice the size listed as 6-1/2 X 14. I still have the catalog from when I purchased the set in 1980. I'm looking to see what the value of the snare is. On several websites I see references to 6 X 14. I never see the 6-1/2 by 14. My question is basically ..is there a difference?
Or perhaps maybe you know what these snares usually cost
Yes they are the same snare.. I saw a 6 1/2" advertised as a 5" recently and it is also common to see 5 1/4" listed as 5".
