Meet other members in person (CAN/US) Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello there,

haven´t been posting here for quite a while. Business and family have kept me very busy - but nonetheless I have been following the "vdf-family" constantly. Love reading all the posts and looking at all the pics that are published! Still so many things to learn!

And I must state that this community is still the greatest I´ve ever joined and I´m very happy to be part of.

As the title says, my three girls and me would be happy to probably have a chance and meet some of you fellow members (who live in the specific places we´re gonna visit) in person - tomorrow we´re heading off to spend our summer holidays in Canada and the US.

The first station will be Toronto (Mississauga), where we will spend the first week.

Afterwards we will travel from Buffalo via Detroit (two days stay) to Chicago (five days stay). The third week we will be in/around Oakland and San Francisco, with a two-days-trip to Los Angeles in the middle of the week.

The fourth and last week takes us back to Canada, where we´re visiting an old friend of mine in Vancouver.

If you live in the places named above, we would be very happy to maybe hear from you and make an appointment. Please PM me when you´re interested so I can give you further information about exact dates/places or anything else you´d like to know.

Thank you!

Greets, Jurgen

If you're going to be in Los Angeles, I would suggest stopping into the hollywood pro drum shop. I would also say go to guitar center in hollywood as well. Both are worth the visit. Also go to tommies and get a chilli hamburger or dog if you're feeling adventurous. I'm about an hour and a half outside of L.A. so whenever i'm in that area, these are the three places I usually hit up. There is much to see in L.A.

Safe travels and enjoy!!

Thank you, Jason and Jim!

Yes, Los Angeles surely has way more than we are able to see in two days.

So I am grateful for the input where to go - great, thanks! Clapping Happy2

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Jealous but happy. I've always wanted to take a vacation that's more than just one week. Though I'd hit the national parks more than the drum shops if I had the opportunity.

You're right, Larry - we're gonna try and see as much as we can in the short time we spend in each place we go. Hard to make a decision.

Went to Niagara falls and Toronto Island, enjoyed it very much.

Today our first week (that we spent in Canada) is over and we're heading off to Detroit.

Thanks for your replies!

What Jason said re drums ... (also as a previous tourist) in LA must do the Walk of Fame down Hollywood Blvd... also the young ones should enjoy a drive out to the Santa Monica Pier/ Venice beach area.. (Santa Monica is also a nice place to dine whatever your fare)..

Cheers

John
