Mid-70's Slingerland 3 Ply 16x16 Silver Sparkle Shell Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

Im looking for a silver/black badge (mid 70's) 3 Ply Silver Sparkle 16x16 floor tom shell. Doesnt need to have lugs or hoops or anything...but if it had leg mounts that would be sweet. Clear maple interior. Needs to have just a tiny bit of ginger ale going on. Just a TINY touch. One of those that you look at and go...."Is that just ever so slightly faded? Cant really tell!"

Let me know what you have!

Thanks!

Id like to stick with a mid-70's one if possible so it matches my kit. That one looks NICE though!

Are these that rare? Jeez! Thought this would be an easy one! None on ebay in last month either.

YES THEY ARE KIND OF RARE...

The only difference in an early 1970's and mine is the air hole and badge...I can sell you a 1970's badge. Everything else is identical...and see mine has natural interior NOT the chocolate milk paint...so you are very close...It is hard to find mid-70s drums in sparkles and pearls because those colors were associated more with Jazz and by the mid 70's Jazz was not the main deal...it was Rock...not many Rockers went in to a store in the mid 1970s and asked for sparkle or pearl colored drums...

Makes sense. This set is early-mid though.

Yes, my shells have re-rings. Thats cool that your shell has no choco going on. I have extra badges, but I wouldnt drill a 60s drum for that reason.

I tried to PM you, but your box was full. Can you send me some prices when you get a chance? Id love to hear what you want for the complete drum, for just the shell, and for the shell w/leg mounts. I have tons of lugs and I think I have some hoops here too.

Current set up is 22/12/13/14f......I dont really use the 13 though. Looking to add that 16f for some low end versatility.

Thanks!

Hi Adam, My box is clear now but it is still faster to email me directly at: "][email protected]

The drum complete is $395-450 plus shipping. It is a very clean one. Round and no issues. Always craed for. A very low mileage drum. If you are interested let me know and Ill dig it out. I have had it over 25 years just sitting in dark climate controlled storage. It came with a one owner set but I saved it for a recover project. I decided years ago that it was too nice to recover so I kept it as is. Allan

Thanks status, but Ill pass at that price.

If anyone has a 70's drum in SS let me know. Im looking in the 150,xxx-200,xxx range (ideally) as far as serials go but anything with a silver/black Niles badge is fine. I'd prefer just a shell, as I have the hardware already.

Thanks!
