Hello,
Before I go to sleazebay or craplist, I want to offer these to you fine folks first (clever alliteration usage!). Special pricing for Forum members!
Stewart 3 piece. 9" x13", 16" x 16" and 14" x 20".
They are the thicker MIJ shells with no re-rings and gray painted interiors. The interiors have all been sanded smooth. All bearing edges were cut to a double 45 by Precision Drum Company (of NY). Edges are now flawless, the old edges were in pretty bad shape. Brand new wood hoops on the bass drum (I painted, lacquered and installed the inlay myself. I had the inlay groove cut by a 5 star drum shop). There is some Moleskin padding on the hoop to protect the finish. Brand new claw hooks and tensions rods on the bass drum. Brand new Ludwig brackets and legs (with Pearl Air Suspension tips) for the floor tom. Note that 2 additonal Ludwig Brackets are on the bass drum for L-cymbal arms, but the arms are not included. All the chrome looks good. Very shiny. A few scuffs on some of the lugs, but all look great from more than 12 inches away. The nuts on the rail mount and the two bass drum mounted L-arm brackets on the bass drum are operated by a standard 7/16" wrench (not included).
See photos here and in the following thread. Shell pack only. They have been re-wrapped (not by me), but are in great condition. There are a few minor flaws. 1. The inside of the floor tom had a little splintering going on after sanding, because the wood was so dry. I repaired the worst of it with wood filler (underneath a leg bracket). There is also a little splintering around the edge here and there from when Precision cut the bearing edges (again because the wood was so dry), but I left those alone. The bass drum also has a little edge splintering as well, but it's very minor. The rack tom is A-OK. 2. On the floor tom re-wrap (whomever it was), the wrap is not lined up properly, so there is a little area of bare wood exposed at the top of the drum. Not very noticeable unless you're really up close, but just wanted to disclose that (Look close at Pic 4 in this post-just under the top head above the nearest floor tom leg and badge). The wrap is tight at the edge of the drum. Also on the floor tom, above the badge and in-between those two lugs directly above the badge, the wrap is a little "squishy" and is not glued down properly. It doesn't affect the sound at all (no rattling or anything), and it is tight at the edge where the head goes (and everywhere else), so I just thought I'd disclose that as well. The seam on the floor tom could be a little tighter, but it's okay now as is. Other than these minor issues, these drums are in great condition and ready to go!
You know what to do!
Thanks,
V
