Mike Layton Injured In Automobile Accident Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi All,

One of our forum members, (and friend of mine,) Mike Layton was injured in an automobile accident on Thanksgiving day. Mike's wife, Anna called me and told me that Mike is in the hospital after being involved in an accident.

Details: His father had purchased a new car a couple of weeks ago and on thanksgiving day, Mike and the old man took it out for a spin.

A deer ran out in front of the vehicle and the old man swerved to avoid them. The swerve was taking them into a concrete embankment, so he immediately swerved in the opposite direction. The second swerve sent them tumbling off the side of the road into a concrete-lined ditch. Mike took the force of the blow on his right side. His right ear was torn and had to be sewn back on. His right shoulder blade, collar-bone and all the ribs on the right side are broken. He's been hospitalized since thanksgiving. Mike's dad, thankfully, was uninjured and was released the same day.

Sounds like he's busted up pretty badly. Please keep a good thought for our drum brother and friend, Mike.

So sad. Great guy. Let's hope he recovers quickly.

Thanks John for the heads up. A full and speedy recovery to Mike and it truly was fortunate that his Dad wasn't seriously injured.

Andy ( my dog ) and I will be thinking of him tonight and wishing him the best.

No need for concern. His forum name is MLayton here and at another site. Mike is one of the moderators at another well-known drum site. Lots of guys here have dual membership, both here and at the other place and they know Mike by his full name.

'Some people' have nothing to hide I guess. One of the things I like about him. Thank you for expressing your concern over a possible violation of someone's privacy/anonymity. In 99.9% of cases, you would be absolutely correct. No worries here however. Mike let that cat out of the bag himself. I will gladly refund your two cents!

Keep a good thought for the Big-Guy...
