Mixed up Rogers? Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Hey Guys,

I bought a Rogers Tower kit in great condition. It came with a Luxor model snare. It has the paper label serial # is 13965 (Cleveland Ohio) and it has speckeled grey paint interior. Is this correct? I thought that the Cleveland drum interiors were all painted flat grey?

It also came with a Rogers Tower 12" tom, paper label serial #12358 (Cleveland Ohio), flat grey interior.

Also, a Rogers Tower bass drum 20" bass drum, paper serial #13878, (Dayton Ohio), Speckled grey interior.

Not sure if this kit was pieced together or bought during a transition period.

Thanks

Interesting,I think Rogers had less anomalies as far as older discontinued parts ending up on later drums,a lot less than Sling or Lud,I have a Dayton tom with sta tite mounts and flat grey int,and I know the early Dayton drums could have flat grey int's I also know that the flat grey shells are found on fullerton drums,I have also seen other labels model name x'd out and holiday typed in,I have not heard of a speckled int with a cleveland tag,but I would assume it could be possible. The rogers eperts may be able to shed some light.

It seems correct to me. there are a couple of luxors floating around with speckled interior. May I ask what color?

It is very possible to have a cleveland tag on a speckled gray fullerton transition era drum. When they moved, there was a lot of confusion, and well, they used parts. Probable 1969 for that one.
