Hey guys..Just came across the recent Modern Drummer Magazine Bonzo Bash contest to win a set of Ludwig Amber Vistalites, and complete set of Paiste 2002 cymbals.. The contest is open to most residents of the U.S, and Canada , with the exception of florida, NY, and my province of Quebec, Canada ! WTH ?? Why does MD magazine refuse residents of those specific geographic locations ?..Makes no sense to me and is totally unfair, seeing as how i'm a huge Bonzo and Zep fan, use Ludwig Drums and Paiste cymbals and have contributed to both companies' incomes for nearly the past decades.. I think this is travesty, and for lack of a better word, stupid, no matter what the "laws" or "rules " are, even if it has to do with certain import export laws and policies..

Just my two cents .. Anyone else think this is totally ridiculous ??

It has to do with your local laws. I just entered it about 2 hours ago.

human71 - Don't beat up on MD for it. It most likely has to do with local/State consumer regulations that will not allow for certain types of contests and merchandise give-aways. New York is an important market. I'm certain that MD didn't just arbitrarily block out New York. If you write them an email asking about it, I bet they tell you it has something to do with a legal or regulatory issue.

I'm in PA. They don't care who screws us over in my state! I'm entering!!! LOL :D

Too many great drums to list here!

Well it's never fun to be excluded! Can't you just enter using someone else's address from Ontario or whatever? Nothing wrong with breaking the rules and cheating, I always say...:)
