Moon Gel =window cling? Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Someone told me why spend $20 on moon gel when you can go to K Mart and for .99 buy a 12 pack of window clings, which is suppose to be the same thing. I would like feedback on this, if its true, we all should be doing it.

For .99 can't hurt to just go buy a pack and try it right? I only pay like $7 for moon gels though. You pay $20?

I saw a moon gel kit on line for $20 comes with a case, I use rings, anyway after I posted this I asked me wife if she had any clings, so she gives me some nice pumkin ones, snowflakes, and leafs. I went downstairs and tired it on a tom AMAZING!! its the same as moom gel, as long as you dont mind having cute pictures on your drums LOL!!!!

That is awesome! A good conversation starter right?

When you have pumpkins on your drum heads I mean of course!

It's the same stuff. But you can do the same thing by licking the backside of a Gummy-Bear and placing it on your drum. Don't laugh, I did it once and it worked.

BTW, contrary to popular belief, it is -Not G-a-y- to lick a Gummy-Bear's backside! It is possible to maintain your heterosexual status while effectively muffling your drums.

Too many great drums to list here!

The window cling is not the same thickness or density as Moongel is. it is my go to dampening method, it's quick will stay on in any temp. you'll need to experiment with it. you don't just lay it on the head or stick it on the head and go ok I'm done, the slightest movement placement can and will make a big difference. here are a few pics to give you some ideas, It will bring out the deepest tone out of your bass drum that you can imagine, I can go from a full bohnamish sound to studio dead tone and anything in between. just my 1 cents.
