moons kit for sale Last viewed: 1 hour ago
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
Wow thats cool
Did the listing mention that its a "Ringo" kit? And, it's even cooler because it's being sold through Bonham's.
yes it does very surreal....in this case the modified cymbal mount is kinda Beatles like, in changing up to rogers hardware,,,that wont affect value because of its provenance!

Man, what I'd do for that kit. And as soon as i'd got it, I would put I can't explain on my stereo...And jam out like I used to when I was a kid in the early 90s listening to this stuff. Also, I think it's blue oyster. You can enlarge the pic on the auction website and it looks more apparent.
I'd have to say what makes this kit so rare is that it was never blown up, kicked over, driven in to a Holiday Inn swimming pool or otherwise nailed to a ceiling.
:)
its listed in auction as black oyster pearl....

Ya but look closer. It has a lot of green. And i think it starts at that price.

Yes, but if you look at the pictures on the auction site of Moon actually playing this set, the Rogers L-arm and knobby weren't on the set when he owned it...

The unique fingerprint of the oyster finish confirms that this is the actual set Moon is playing in the photos, but the Rogers cymbal arm and knobby must have been added by Chris Sherwin after he bought the set from Moon. So the Rogers hardware is a post-Moon modification. I'm afraid I'll have to drop my opening bid down to $12,000 :D

Geez, exploring Bonhams auction site a little more, I think it would be really easy to spend some serious money here...
