Morals question..... Last viewed: 0 seconds ago

I found a drum set on Pittsburgh CL early in July. I told seller I was serious about the purchase but could not be there until the end of July. It was a 5 1/2 hour drive one way from my location. He held them for me without accepting my offer of a deposit but, he would email and call me for the next three weeks. I welcomed the communication and he sold me the drums plus gave me another rack tom with an 80's Pearl tom arm & mounting bracket. I got lucky!

I go with B, as a buyer and a seller. I honor the terms and give the first guy the first crack at it. Recently had a very unfortunate interaction with a member here who did A and messed up a deal I had locked down. For some guys, it's cutthroat and that's it. But that's not the worldview I live by. I am aware of who's who though. Doesn't take long to figure out!

Personally, I would go with A. Whatever it takes to get what you want, need or deserve, that is what I say.

Ok, I am just kidding. I am a B guy completely, both buying and selling. Just honor your word one way or another. I am a die hard capitalist, but one's word is far more important than profit.

But you got a little riled up there for a second didn't you?

As both a seller and buyer really neither of these options apply to me I have had buyers state I'll take it, So I end up telling other buyers it is possibly sold only to have the 1st buyer not show almost screwing up a sales, Now I'll state to all of them 1st with the dough wins the show. when I call a seller I tell them I am a serious buyer and leave right then and there to purchase said item. The seller is whom I let decide who he wants to sale to.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I would choose person B.

Now who on VDF was lucky enough to pick up that 60's Silver Sparkle Ludwig Kit with Zildjian "symbals" for $200 this week in the Cleveland area?

Yes, it was a Super Classic with Supra and matching hardware. I saw the CL ad within 10 min. of it posting and immediately responded to the ad via e-mail (no phone numbber). I'm guessing the seller's Inbox was flooded, because I never received a reply.

No hard feelings towards the buyer, because I've had my fair share of good deals.

Come on fess up! :D

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

i like to treat all buys/sells as a "destiny" event

if you get it, it was "meant to be"

if not, there probably was "a good reason"

keeps the negative stuff in perspective
