Kind of late to this thread, but I just picked up a vintage Ludwig 98a NOS

still packaged in the box and got busy trying to get it hooked up to play it.

Here's what I came up with, not glamorous but most likely one would have most everything you need on hand if you have a few extra cymbal stands around.

I used a cymbal boom stand and cymbal cup washers, 1 metal and 1 plastic that is a all in one with gromet protector and washer. Use cymbal padding also to protect the tambourine -
