Mounting two cymbals on one straight stand 'Ginger Baker style'? Last viewed: 13 minutes ago

See picture for reference. Does anybody happen to know what stands it is possible to do this with? I'm guessing the cymbal just sits on a felt resting on one of the clamps on the stand, in which case will the top rod of a super thin stand like a Premier Lokfast fit through the hole of a modern cymbal? I've heard of people drilling out the cymbal hole to achieve this but there's no chance I'd do that when essentially the only reason I want to do this is because I think it looks much nicer than using a cymbal stacker.

Thanks!

those are the early Ludwig flat base stands, Ian paice used to do the same thing and I copied him with my super classic kit in the early 70's, no drilling required

Interestingly enough, I used to do just that with my Premier Lokfast stands because I thought Ginger's set up looked cool. I wish I still had those Lokfast stands.... To answer your question, that will absolutely work with those stands.

Thanks a lot guys, great info. Thankfully Lokfasts are pretty easy to come by here in the UK so I've already bought myself one off eBay :) Can't wait.

Wish they were easy to find here in the US!

I still am kicking myself for not buying 20 or 30 of them circa 1987 when a guy called me who had many NOS,still in the box ones!CryBaby

I only bought maybe 3 or 4.....

He had NOS hi hat stands too!

Wish I could recall how much he wanted for each.......
