My 1941 Ludwig 7X14 in WMP Last viewed: 10 hours ago

I have had this drum since about 2001 and decided it was time to do a deep clean job on it. The cleaning came out wonderfully. I even had a little help from my 7 year old princess who told me, "Dad, I really love working on these old drums with you!"

I disassembled the entire drum, soaked the parts in Simple Green and then left them over night in Dawn soap and water. I went to Ace Hardware for Cape Cod cleaning pads, but they didn't have them, despite their website saying they did... but, I picked up Never Dull instead and I am pleased with the results.

Here are some before and after photos that I took. It was a pretty day out here in the coastal Southeast Texas area, so the after photos were taken in the yard.

The drum sounds as amazing as she looks! Newer heads and I borrowed some Puresound snares from another drum that I haven't been playing lately.

Thanks for looking friends!

Thank ya sir! She is something else, I tell ya! She's a lefty and I have set up a backwards kit for her. She's got a natural timing and absolutely LOVES music! ...if i could just get her away from the modern "pop" singer stuff.. She keeps a steady tempo though. I love it!
