Rogers Dyna-sonic without the snare frame can sound almost as nice as the Super. Brass is brass after all. The main difference is that one has COB hoops, the other has COS hoops. Both great sounding drums!

I totally agree. I actually use my dads Dyna without it. Here's a before & after I got done with it. Most of his gear sat for years on the East Coast.

But I agree the Trans Badge COB is quite the drum regardless.

Nice Dyna-Sonic. I recently sold one similar. I still have a Big R Dyna without the frame that sounds great!

Now that I'm thinking about it, there are at least 5 versions of the Super Ludwig. There was the WFL COB, teh WFL lacquered brass version, the transition badge then the pre serial keystone with the round knob muffler followed by the pre serial with baseball bat muffler. Not to mention there were different type crimped snare beds on certain drums, and then there's the B/O badge brass shells, but that's a bit of a grey area for me.

These are the 2 I own. Plus the Dyna.

I'd love to get a Pre serial COB 6.5x14. One day!

Those are a couple of beauties, Mark. The earlier version Imperial lugs look great on these drums!
