My Customized Slingerland Kit Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

This kit started out as three plain Slingerland tom shelss, a 12" x 8" tom from 1964, a 14" x 10" tom from the lmid 1970's and an 18" x 16" floor tom that was also from the mid 1970's. The 18" floor tom was converted to a bass drum and all three drums were covered in 12 years wirth of saved cigar bands. I used this kit at the CT Drum show this year to demonstrate tje fresh tucked calfskin heads I was offereing. I am in the process of customizing a Slingerland snare drum to match the kit as well. Currently the snare drum I have been using on this kit with calf heads is a 1928 Ludwig Deluxe (Black Beauty) that has been in my family for three generations. If you're interested in seeing the entire process of customizing the kit I did a step by step picture diary on line showing my progress. Click Here to see all of the pictures for the cigar band project. All together I have over 150 hours into the project.
