I may be selling off my Elvin Jones collection of drum related items.

I want to know if anyone here would be interested in buying what I have here.

The only Gretsch Round Badge drum other than the bass drum Charlie Watts has that survived after Elvin Jones' died is the Anniversary Floor tom that I have. It comes with a fiber case that still has a Swissair luggage tag on it. It also has a letter of provenance with it.

I also have an 18" resonant bass drum head that Yamaha had especially made for him - provenance with that as well as well as some stage worn sticks and Red t-shirt.

They're great pieces of Gretsch drum and drum history.

I just have no room to display it.

I haven't put these items up for sale yet - I'm just putting feelers out there and if someone is really interested message me here or email me.

Gary,i have always loved Elvin Jones and i saw him in Boston in 73`upclose and on fire.The man was an innovator in every regard and i wish you the best of luck with your historical sale as i don`t have the room to display them either as much as i would love to.

That drum is a really special piece of history, with some patience you're sure to find the right buyer eventually. I had good luck with jazz and jazz vinyl forums.
