My new acquisition - 70's Ludwig Super Classic Last viewed: 5 hours ago

I swore I was NEVER going to buy another vintage kit! (Yeah, we've all said it before!) Saw this kit on feebay and decided it was just what I needed! It's all mine now and should arrive by Friday. Hey Backbeatkeeper, they're being delivered to my girlfriend's house, so I'll be able to show them to you! I have a wonderful Supra, dated Nov 1970, that is dying to sit behind this Super Classic kit, along with other clean and period correct hardware. The rack tom shows a Pearl rims mount, but the seller is removing it and installing the Ludwig mount on the tom. This kit is very clean and I'm looking forward to playing it. I'll post more pictures after the kit is completely cleaned up and configured the way I want it. Ahhh....drums!

C'mon Idrum4fun, you know my name, you can use it here, were all friends.

I guess you're not interested in the MIJ kit anymore that we were going to do some trading for? Coffee Break2

I think there is a definite need to get that Ludwig and my Slingy Jet in the same room in the very soon future.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Sorry about that..GARY!!! Yes, I guess I'll return your MIJ rack tom. I did find a NOS tom plate for it. Yours at no charge, my friend!

Too cool to have the Luddies and Slingy Jet in the same room! Looking forward to it!

Looking forward to it. I have gotten a few new "toys" since we last talked and have also gotten rid of a few. I promise one of the toys will make the flat ride you love so much pale in comparison.

That is a very cool kit. You may want to hang on to that Pearl piece. They do work and are not as icky looking as the rims stuff. Maybe, hang on to it for experimentation.

Hi RogerSling! The seller is not including the Pearl mount with the tom. I've always had good luck using the original tom bracket with Ludwig mounted toms. I really want to keep this kit original!

Then I would say your stepping into an excellent kit. I really like the look of it.

Thanks for all the great comments! My plan is to use my Nov. 1970 Supra with this kit. However, my girlfriend always insists on a matching snare drum! Well, guess what's being offered up for sale on the Bay? Yep a matching Jazz Festival from about the same year! Pictures attached. I'll keep my eye on it! My girlfriend's love and support of vintage drums costs me money!
