Hi guys,
Just wanted to share some picks of the "new" old drums I picked up recently.
I picked up this 1967 Acrolite for my daughter, hoping that one day she would want a drum of her own to learn how to play. It is in really nice shape and has all original hardware (baseball bat muffler with white felt pad, p-83 strainer) Keystone badge, and the original Ludwig "orchestral" heads. Dated June 15 1967. Serial Number is 486689.
I picked up this 22" Slingerland bass drum to complete a 50's-60's Slingerland 22-13-16 outfit. This drum has the brass/black script logo badge and came to me without any hardware. I outfitted period correct hardware and added a 13" tom with a 1960 date stamp to complete the kit. Just need to pick up a new wingnut for the cymbal mount, so I can do away with the boom stand. It sounds wonderful and is a nice counter to the 20" bass and 12" tom I was using previously. These Slingerland drums are so undervalued (IMO) and just sing!
Anyway, just a show and tell. Hope you like the pictures!
