Yep We had a gig last weds nite at a nice club in Napa,Ca.By friday the loud guitar player lost his JOB,GIRLFRIEND,REHEARSAL HALL,AND HAD A RESTRAINING ORDERput on him by friday. The singer ,who was the main attraction is moving back to Arkansas and that is that. By saturday nite I got a try out in a Blue-grass,rock,country band. They are sharp without a drummer now.The first thing I was asked?? "Can you play soft"???? Piece a cake. This is going to be fun.

LoLoLoLo

I swear, I think it's the same guy going from state to state torturing bands from coast to coast. :p

I think you're right, John! This guy has even made his way up to Canada! Why do so many guitar players equate talent or skill with loud volume? "Ain't I great! Look how loud I can play! I know five chords but, I'm better than Hendrix! I am way too cool!" JERKS!

Brian

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

Hey Brian, if we started a, 'Egotistical A-hole Guitar Players' thread, it would be the longest thread ever started at VDF!

Why is it -always- the guitar players that turn out to be complete A-holes? I've only run into one A-hole bass player, but -every- guitar player I ever met had some kind of personality glitch. I don't know, maybe something about playing a guitar in a band that turns you into a jerk.

Brian..hope this works out for all, like they say, there's a lid for every pot(I know there's a play on words there).

I played with a guy like that for a time.Dynamics and using the volume control just wasn't on his tool bag.I't cool though,Im sure he'll find a band of like minded players, who's amps go up to 11,and go around saying"what ?"
