Mystery Snare Stand Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Well, I just got my email from Vintage Drum Forum wishing me a Happy Birthday.....and so it has prompted me to post this, and ask for a 'present' in solving my mystery here....what make, model, era is this snare stand. I am suspecting it is American, so I am posting it in here. Of course, I do not know for sure at all, so I may be wrong and it may be European.....??? It just gives me an American Vintage vibe!

One more pic......this opens/closes the (what do ya call those) the bucket, the ......can't remember what the 'shell hugger' is called......sure you will tell me!

H John, It is a Buck Rogers model. I see it in the Ludwig book listed from 59-63. The Slingerland book shows that design in several variations from 53-79. Hope that helps and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

That is quite helpful indeed. I am learning about this stand as I surf around....finding a post on here from 2008, asking about what one is the ORIGINAL and such....and only one reply to that one......

but 135 was likely the asking price, and the actual selling price maybe lower?? I will find out, as the 2008 post did mention that the price ranges vary wildly. Mine appears to be in excellent condition.

Any more detailed info about mine in particular would be another great present! ....and it's the BASKET that I was trying to think of!

Yeah, that's nice to have them all for a change.

Needing the feet and not having them - becoming a pet peeve of mine! Right up there with waiting for a traffic light - twice. I found a source for those, while not as good as having the originals, preferable to none. I have many stands lacking feet and just found a good source - referred to him from Blair.

Happy Birthday!!! Like Mikey said,it's a Buck Rogers stand,and it was made by Walberg and Auge for just about every American drum maker, including Ludwig,and used by a certain famous British drummer during the 60's.

Now get away from the keynoard,and some cake,and a drink or two;)
