Natural Maple Club Date 1972 Last viewed: 32 minutes ago

Boy, you guys are bein' pretty tough here. I don't see any problems with this ad--I spotted the patched holes right away--I didn't feel like anything was being hidden. Sure, I'd ask some questions before I bought, but I do that every time I'm interested in a set.

And I'd have to differ with kellyj, respectively--imho, that is, indeed, a Clubdate drum set, regardless of the fact that, at some time, it had a double tom mount.

You guys 'seem' to imply that there's something underhanded here--I don't see it. Apparently, mikey777 thinks he knows this seller, & feels he's been less than straight with some previous sales, but rocknfusion says otherwise; if I found myself in this position, I'd be upset..........marko

I did mention that it is a nice kit, there is no denying that. OK a "modified" CD kit.

My main point is full disclosure, especially if drilling or filling of drum shells is involved. Keeps everything on the level.

What is the real value therefore of a bass drum that has been drilled or filled?

So how much is CD kit worth in similar shape with no extra holes?

My final point on this and then I'll be quiet.

I once bought a silver sparkle Club Date kit off the "Bay" for full price, at that time $750. the seller said it was all pristine. Being an inexperiened buyer at the time, I thought I was purchasing a bonified vintage drum kit in its original unmolested state.

When the box arrived and all was unpacked, I took the heads off and sure as s*** the 12" tom and the Bass had been re-wrapped. I'm still trying to find a matching Club Date 12" tom for that kit! The re-wrap job was badly done.

I purchased a matching "Unmolested" 20" shell and changed all the hardware out. Fortunately the 14" floor tom was nice. The seller was forced to rebate me $100 under threat of misrepresentation.

Vintage drums are a specialized product and market as is any vintage item that is sold in any vintage market place. "Buyer beware". There so many fakes and molestations that are not disclosed.

RocknFusion is not being accused here as his photo does reveal the truth in his bass drum, which I'm sure was his intention. When a seller fully discloses changes to drum shells from its original state (in writing), whether a re-wrap or a drill hole fix it adds to the seller's integrity and reputation and keeps the buyers trusting and happy.

So, all that RocknFusion has to do to make everyone pleased with his ad is go back and revise it to include a written disclosure of his knowledge of changes to the bass shell. Very simple, good business practice and the community rejoices!

Cheers!

Right on, kellyj. I totally agree it sucks to buy something that's been misrepresented. Your situation with your Clubdates sucks. But it sounds like you're on the way to getting it fixed up.

I think these CD's are priced fairly, but that doesn't mean they're gonna move any time soon. For the compulsive buyers & sellers like myself, it was way more fun when everyone was swapping gear regularly. Today, it's pretty much everybody's stuck with what they got.

Man oh man ... I'm happy to be stuck with the kits I've got. I could swap some bronze, but my drums are right at home.

Lovely CD, by the by.

kellyj,To me a CD bass drum that has been filled and missing the badge tells me a few thing's about the drum.It did not came as a set, drum has been refinish or recovered. To me the bass value would be from 100.00-125.00..I would say the same thing about the floor tom no badge ete same price as the bass drum..If the set was a real CD set with NO "Mod's" in any finish would sell from 1,500.00-3,000.00..This set listed here a pair price for the three drums 400.00-450.00 tops because of the mods and that its a piece together set..Mikey
