Hi. I purchased a used 12" X14" white Cortex Ludwig marching snare from a music store retailer on eBay. There was no mention of the exact model but the caracteristics of the drum seem to point to the Vector model.(P-90 strainer and P-91 butt; aluminium reinforcement ring on shell bearing edge). However, there are some differences with the Vector model that appears in the current Ludwig catalog in the Marching Percussion section, notably the bottom hoop configuration on my drum. It is not a die cast but rather a double-flanged hoop. The snare guards under the strainer and butt assembly are narrow and painted black and fixed to the tension rods. The heads are not original. There is no Ludwig logo printed vertically on the shell as seen on the current model. There is a number stamped on the Keystone badge that reads: 3240445. Can anyone tell me an approximate date this drum was manufactured ? Thanks for any help.
