My husband bought this set complete and new in 1972. Paperwork says Packed in Fullerton CA as well as owners manual. When he bought the set he opted for a different snare that was less expensive at the time. Can't tell what year it was actually produced serial # is 30165. Link to photos -

Since that is the top of the line Rogers snare drum at the time, my curiosity is piqued at the "less expensive" comment on what is a 6.5 x 14 Rogers Dyna-Sonic. Value today, complete, in great condition is approx. 400-500 USD. What, pray tell, was the more expensive option?
Value on the drums is relative to what someone will pay on any given day.
For insurance purposes, value should not be less than 1500 on the package.
I just sold a kit like this one.It is a early70's Rogers butcher block wrap.With a rogers dynasonic snare drum. Looks to be very nice kit.
W/ they said + that floor tom looks to be 18" w/ the 4 legs which is uncommon enough to add a bit of a premium to the setup. Nice kit even though butcher block ain't the most select option.

The kit with All the rogers hardware & the 70s Zildjian cyms..
I agree with The Ploughman..($1500/insurance costs)
however selling prices are tricky..theres a lot of factors that are important..!
*Paper tags inside shells...Pics would tell us if there 9/72 or the bigger tags.
*The big sizes and the wrap of the drums.

In todays world,its smaller sizes & natural wood finish or sparkle wraps...
eg..18"/20" bass 16"/14" flr tom 12"/13" rack toms..
However, selling the snare & cyms separately from the kit might give you more $...if that's what yr after..?

Probably meaning a wood dynasonic as opposed to the brass one ?
You guys have been so helpful...I really got confused when I was looking on ebay about prices....I saw BigR which is a newer drum /late 70's, with no cymbals or snare going for over 2,000 as well as some other rogers sets same year that seemed to be priced differently....
As for the snare spouse chose at the time of purchase....he didn't want the snare in wood. They traded a cob that was brand new but older model and discounted him.
Good advice so far, from the guys who know. The only question not answered: the snare appears to be a late 1971-early 1972 manufacture. Good luck on the sale.
