Need Help with Lug Identification.. Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

So, I bought a lot of miscellaneous gear some time ago and included was this pair of lugs that I've had absolutely NO LUCK in figuring out the make/model/manufacturer or ANYTHING about. As the title of this post indicates, I'm in need of assistance with identification of these guys.

I originally thought that these are some sort of MIJ copies EXCEPT for the fact that the mounting holes are in the raised bosses as opposed to flush with the bottom of the lug. They're also a bit heavier than the run of the mill Japanese lugs as well. The ends tapered to a point are similar to old Star and Ajax (and a few others I can't recall offhand) but not a perfect match. The raised ridges on the "spine" of the lug are reminiscent of old Slingerland Beavertails and a couple of old Gretsch styles but again not the same.

I looked high and low at U.S. and Japanese companies/lines but no joy. Anyhow, here are some links and hopefully someone here can clue me in:

Awesome! Thank you very much!

I looked everywhere at U.S. and Japanese but never thought about Sonor (obviously). I appreciate the information and thank you again.

Don't look like the teardrop Sonor I have had. Might be a different era than mine were. The small lip on the front edge not on mine. I might be learning something new in that case.

Maybe other German lugs might be worth a look as well. Trixon and Tomsa (sp) had similar as Sonor.
