Need help with serial numbers on Ludwig Bonham Kit Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

Thanks for any feedback!

Trying to nail down when this kit was made.

has "keystone" badges.....serial # 32846021

shells have the "long, full length lug bars" like an old Tama Art star kit, I.E. the lug attachments run the full length of the shell.

The bass drum (26 x 18) has four mounting spurs. I've only seen one kit on

google images (Zep kit) that had four legs, BUT the shells had the regular or "short" lugs.

Some Vintage Ludwig site says 1966-1976??????????

Thanks!!!

The serial number you provided appears to have one too many digits. If the extra digit is toward the end, I suspect that you have a large Keystone badge that indicates that the drums were manufactured in Monroe, NC. According to multiple resources, Ludwig moved production to Monroe in 1984.

Pictures would be very helpful.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
