Need identification please :) Slingerland 1961 Black Diamond Pearl Bass Drum Last viewed: 33 minutes ago

Loading...

Hello everyone, new member here.

So I bought this naked Slingerland bass drum from a garage sale about 2 years back and need your help.

It is a 22x14, Niles, IL badge (w/o serial number), black diamond pearl wrap, and it has a cymbal holder in the middle. Inside, there is a stamp that marks March, 1961 with a "P"

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I take it the Evans head wasn't on it. Is that the only drum you aquired? Missing some lugs. Others here might have an idea.

I believe the wrap is an aged version of Light Blue Pearl, not black diamond pearl and you can check the link below to help identify the model.

Hard to tell but the finish almost looks like light blue pearl. When they are aged they look more of a grayish color.

That is a very nice drum, I bet it sounds killer with that mahogany interior! Looks like you will need some hoop mounted spurs and a few t-rods and claws but basically it's a virgin bass drum.

That mount on top is for a cymbal arm.
