Yes, that is why I said mid to late 80s. Like 85 to 89. Also, the Keystone badge in the picture tells the same story. I have an early 80s kit withe similar shell sizes but with b/o badges.

Chicago badge,so later than what 85 or so..There after Monroe NC .

Power toms,82 and there after,so 82-85,Chicago badge,but I don't think gold hardware was an option,6 ply maple poplar.

thanks for all the info! Any idea what the kit is worth? Im guessing early 80's isnt very collectable/desireable. I got the kit for $400 along with all the hardware. I put new heads on a few of the drums and shes sounding great, the snare especially sounds fantastic. I usually play a 4 piece kit so im thinking of replacing the modular tom mounts(cant stand them) with L mounts and selling off the extra drums. Either way im pretty happy, shes a good sounding and great looking practice kit for me.

its hard to tell but is the gold actual plating or is it some kind of paint? looks to be chipping in areas...

Are you sure its gold plated and not brass?

Joe T the power sizes go back to the late 70s. My Ludwigs are 79's and all power toms.

Assuming the hardware is original to the set, the round tube legs would put this in the early 80's.... as stated already.

Ok. But if it were early 80s and not mid wouldn't the badge be B/O? I thought the Keystone badge on this kit was 85 and on?
