Set of 70's Maxwin by Pearls that came with a Slingerland GK/SK COB snare for $150. Kept the snare :-). Gave him a mint Ludwig Black Galaxy instead.

He does very well for 8. Plays for awhile watches YouTube BR and others than plays some more. Fun to watch.

Wow those cleaned up nicely! Looks like a happy young man. I had the same smile the day I got my first set of drums too! And your quite the cool Uncle for setting him up with these. Take a bow!

Creighton - That's one happy camper for sure! He's got a huge grin on his face! I think that little fish is hooked for life! He's got the best uncle in the world.

Nice job on those... congrats and happy sailing to nephew!

Thanks all !

Yes those are balloons (14). Regret don't recall who posted that tip here. Works great and never a worry from "soggy pillow" damage.

Awesome idea. I would have never though about putting balloons in a bass drum. Are they tight within the shell or is there room for them to move around?

BTW, great looking set and a very happy looking drummer too.

Thanks!

Hope he sticks with it. If not, he had the tools to find out wasn't for him.

Balloons are tight. Wish I had stuck some cotton batting in between. That bass is still serious loud. If the pointy end of the spurs are turned into the shell will want to put ping pong balls or such on those. :-)
