It took him a whole three weeks to tire of them. Must be awesome drums.
I haven't played a set of the new club dates yet, but I did own a Mod Orange special edition kit that Ludwig put out awhile back. The kit had those same cherry/gumwood shells. They sounded awesome! The drums had a great warm sound, but with modern drum volume and projection. I wasn't crazy about the new lugs and hardware they used, but damn, those shells sounded really good. I wouldn't knock these drums out of hand without first sitting down behind them and actually playing them. Look at how the guy has the bass drum spurs set-up. Beginner or newbie. Maybe he can't get the drums to sound good because he doesn't know how to play them.
I wonder why Ludwig put the extra-long legs on the 14" tom? Looks weird.
Good drum shells though. I can vouch for that. Cherry/Gumwood makes for a good sonic combination.

I've heard 'em ... ... ... ... ... ... yup. meh.
I wasn't really commenting on the sound of the drums, I really was surprised to see the chrome flaking
I am interested in getting the new atlas stands, I hope the chrome on those is better
