New Crown Badge to me Last viewed: 4 hours ago
I have seen those lugs on another MIC of recent vintage. It would be interesting to investigate who is making what drums in China nowadays-It's possible some are even being produced in other Pacific -rim countries.

Hmmm ... I bought an unbadged Floor Tom like that mainly because I liked the lugs and thought I might do something with it _ but wished I hadn't.
Thin shelled Chinese or Taiwan.
The lugs are really odd _ at least on the FT I bought _ the swivel nuts are supported internally by two thin haphazardly bent strips of metal that fall out when you take the lugs off _ and are a bear to put back in.
Mikey _ Just curious _ could you let me know if the lugs on the Crown tom are similar _ or perhaps I ran into an anomoly with the ones on this floor tom?
OR maybe thats just an image you pulled?

Ohm, The lug you are talking about is a new one to me..I know a few set's M.I.J. in the 60's had Rogers type of B&B lugs where the mounting screws would go into a piece of metal bent around and under the lug..These had springs that hold the inserts in the lug..The Crown drum from the 60's-70's had lugs that used springs to hold in the insert the lugs somewhat looked like Slingerland lugs...If you can post a photo or two of the lugs you have on the floor tom that would be cool..Mikey
I sold a kit a few months ago with that lug style. It was marked ROC (Republic of China?)
And, I've never seen that 'Crown' badge...
