Do you spell "score" the same in New Zealand as we do in the States? Well done and congrats!

We spell it "squore" but I know what you mean:D

Cheers John, I look forward to having a play around with the 18" tuning

I was just kidding too. It's Queens English over here. The main differences that pop up here are color (colour) and aluminum (aluminium). There are others but those two come up often here and I just work in with your spelling if i remember.

I have a set of SSB blonde Gretsch, 24, 13,14,18.

I bought it used and fitted with Pearl.

It's a wonderful kit with lots of character. Records and mics up great. Real easy to work with.

Yours looks similar in dimensions. Best of luck, mine are keepers.

good to know Patrick. My BD is 22". 24" would probably be a better fit for the 13/14/18 toms but I'm sure it'll sound grand

Finished...sort of. I haven't yet tackled the 14" tom or the monster mounting system but this is the way I'd probably play it anyway. The bottom 13" hoop is a TF but I did get a DC 18" for the FT. One of the BD hoops is a generic one but it's hard to spot. The Ts and claws on the batter side are not correct but work. And I have some adjusting to do with the Pratt muffler (I replaced the felt strip but I need to shorten it). As and when I can afford genuine parts I'll add them but it's just so expensive. I got a great deal on the 18" hoop ($25) but after shipping to NZ it was over $100. T-rods, claws and the other hoops will be even more. That said, I'm pleased with the outcome. They are very beautiful.

Thanks. Have you got a photo of your kit?

Here's some more photos with better resolution https://www.flickr.com/photos/41363633@N00/sets/72157647264630244/

The kit was a dark ebony stain or maybe even a green or blue. The underside of the BD is a bit darker and some areas on the edges that were protected by the heads have a hint of green. I really like the color it has faded to though.
