Hey, if you get the itch, may try Fiberskyns. I've never much liked them, but on the NC kit, tuned up pretty tight, they sound good. A friend said "you just changed my mind about Fiberskyns."No guarantee you'll love them... just putting it out there. The coated Ambys ALSO sound great.Ah, hell.... the kit just sounds great!!

Definitely. On my old kit, I used one on the bass drum and liked it a lot. Ive got one on my blacrolite snare right now and like that too. I plan to cycle through fiberskyns and also american vintage mediums to see how they all sound on the NCs.

My only complaint about the NCs is a superficial one: I wish the round badge lettering on it was more pronounced. The badge looks a little cheap to me or something.

I love these drums though. The kit I'm dreaming of next: Canopus club.

Tried the Fiberskins on my Daytons. They were pretty good. Hard to call between them and coated Emps. The Emps seemed to work w/coated Ambos on the toms. Since they were already on, just went that way. I've got FiberSkins on the Ludwigs. Bass and toms. Classic Clear tom resos. Sounds great! I just reheaded them this afternoon. Threw a clear Emp on for trial. Still sounded good, but there's just a bit more "jungle drum" to the toms on FiberSkins, 3 ply, clear interiors.

I did Fiberskyns on my Ayotte Custom kit when I owned that, and honestly, did not like them. On my Rogers kits, I use Coated Ambassadors over clear or coated Ambassadors or Diplomats, Evans J1 Etched over Clear Ambassadors, and have Aquarian texture coated over Clear Ambassadors on one set. As snares, I prefer the Coated Ambassador, Coated Diplomat, or Evans J1 Etched over an Ambassador Snare side.

As for Rogers build quality, ..... I love it.

I do own several Rogers sets..... I sold the Ayotte Custom, and it was perfect.
