New Ludwig Rockers Last viewed: 7 hours ago

I scored these 1980 (haven't had time to verify that) Ludwig Rockers today for $300. I didn't grab the snare you see, a Gretsch with what looked like rosewood rims. It sounded nice but added $400 to the overall price. I recorded with the kick tonight and it sounded mean paired with my Supraphonic. Boom! There are no extra hole. The holes you see are from the original modular tom brackets and mufflers. The tom arm is Ludwig fitted with Yamaha style generic arms and Premier Rims type mounts.

That's nice. You have yourself a hot blonde :-) I'd love to find a Rocker or Standard kit, but they are like hens teeth in Australia.

I don't think the rocker line appeared until 1984,it looks like you have the earlier version with the clear interiors, but the left tom looks like it could be a granitone int,and as far as I know I did not think they ever offered a natural wood outer ply,and because I don't see any badges I think those may be a refinish, but a darn nice one.

They all have granitone interiors. This would make them later 80's?

If you haven't seen this:

I'm guessing they are 1988 or later.

The deeper toms scream late 80s to me. Those are sweet. Wish I had mine still.

Andy,i`ve got a set of Ludwig Classics from 1980 with the deep power toms and they came with Rocker heads on them so yours could very well date from the early 80`s.Really nice kit you`ve got and at a great price too! Enjoy their power and tone...
