Picked these up a few weeks. Just hadn't quite decided what to do about them. Wasn't sure that I needed another set. Wife got called into work early sunday. Had until afternoon for a gig. Got to work. Quick clean and wipe down. Felt strip for the bass. A little tuning. Whew! Think these are going to be keepers. 12/16/20, really useful sizes. They sound great. Really suit my current jazz/blues gig. Ton o' mojo. Great not commonly seen color. I've currently got a couple really nice, but "player's kits". Rogers and Radio King's. Sound great, look good, but molested a bit in ways that I've fixed up. Been wanting one set with no extra holes, etc. The time piece. Looks like I've got one. New old Gretsch's first time out! Emerald green pearl.... Last viewed: 13 hours ago
crash, I have only laid eyes on one other kit in this color. love em!! it is a real looker glad you are playing them out as they are intended.
Very nice indeed. That wrap looks really nice. Almost modern. What year are those?
Wow! What a cool finish. That's a true "marine" pearl (as in sea water). Very very nice.
I have never seen Emerald Green Pearl before. That is very nice.
Do you know if the metal bass hoops are original?

I've been told they are. I've seen them on other '70's Gretsch's. When I firat saw these, thought the s/s inlays were kinda wrong. Now, with put together, I like them. Gotta admit tho, thinking about some wood hoops, maybe stained in a matching shade of green. And I do have a couple project snares, so I could even do a snare shell the same way. Don't think I'll be finding any matching wrap! Oh, and I do have proper claws and t's for the batter side. Just ran out of time before the gig.
Yikes! That has to be one of the top 5 coolest finishes ever! Probably the best thing about being so new at the vintage drum game is seeing a wrap like that for the first time. Good on ya' crash.
Wow. Eye popper! Definitely a keeper!
Wow, love that color/wrap! Congrats on the beautiful kit.
