Thanks, Wayne. The bass drum I first started out with was my Dad's. That was 1958. His 26" Liberty bass drum had calf skin heads, and the front head was painted. This painted head project is bringing me back there. I am fortunate to know a talented artist to do this for me. I might add that modern technology really helps in the lighting. They used to have to drill massive holes to accept a light bulb fixture. You'd plug it in to an AC source and it served two purposes. 1. It kept the calf skin heads warm and dry so they didn't need constant retunes, and 2. You could backlight your artwork. Now with these two bass drums I can use a remote control to light them.Life is good.Cool1
