They have three ply maple/poplar/maple shells; 45 degree edges, grey painted interior, lightweight hardware, classy finish - extremely well made and are not cheap. Sound familiar?

Can't believe no-one has talked about this. I have been waiting to see these drums for quite a while, researching; checking out the Sakae community online and

And they sounded a heck of a lot like my Rogers too. Are they as good? Well of course not to me - but did I like them? Yes I did. I can see craftsmanship at 20 paces and these drums scream "well made". I was also attracted to their cheapest kit, shells made from mahogany with cherry interiors, supposedly at the same place Gretsch are getting their Taiwanese shells from. These drums had a great sound.

The other highlight of the day was seeing a Ludwig new classic kit up close and personal. Wow. I repeat. Wow.
