New Score * 1979/80 Gretsch Kit Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I've wanted a Gretsch black nitron 22/13/16 kit ever since 1978. That was when I first saw The Stones on TV playing Miss You. I finally got my kit today. It's a 22/8/10/12/13/16 in black nitron! I will play it as a 22/12/16. The badges are all SSB drop G.

I was a bit surprised to see a Pratt muffler that late in the game. The other thing that surprised me was how the 12" tom was a tad oversized.

The price was right.

I've been using my 5x14 black Noble & Cooley (formerly owned by Denny Carmassi. It sounds really good with this kit. Plus the black w/ brass hardware looks cool with it too.

Transitional bearing edges or the current style 30 degree? Do the 8" & 10" toms have die-cast hoops? They were used on the smaller sizes beginning in 1981.

Does this mean you'll be dumping your George Way?Cool Dude

Never play it the same way once.

Transitional and die-cast on all toms except 8 & 10 have triple flange.
