I'll try to upload photos of some of my current and past vintage drums.

OK here's a few photos...I currently have the '78 Premiers, '88 Black Pearl WX, and rather large '79-'80 Tama Imperialstars. You may have seen these up on Ebay a time of two when I flirted with selling them. Glad I did not. Still wish I had the others including a Late '70s North, and '82 Orange Pearl Extender kit. I had some other vintage kits, including 70s Slingerlands, 60s Gretsch, 60s-2000s Ludwigs, 60s Rogers, 70s Sonor, 80s Simmons, 70s Synare, Pearl Syncussion, and different makes of snare drums...need to get the photos together.

Thanks Robyn. Sure thing. I am about to start using the Premiers with a classic surf rock band. We only play out once or twice a month, so they will be cased and babied. They are in very good condition, everything is original, no extra holes, and even the bass drum hoops look great. Should I decide to let them go I'll let you know.

Elliot - man, we gotta get you hooked up with a vintage 'made in the USA' drum kit for that surf band. Something about 'British drums' in an 'American surf band' that doesn't sit right with me. :p

Cool kits! Big spreads too! Did you ever gig any of the monster kits?

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Yeah John,

I had been using Ludwig and Gretsch with my surf rock band, but these shells sound so good, and the Premier vibe is so cool I have to try them out for a while. I might still use a Ludwig snare with them though, although the vintage Premier sounds sweet. Hey, "The Shadows" that had the surf rock classic "Apache" were from England right? Thanks for the kit compliments. I have gigged with a mini-monster. It was a maple finish Slingerland with 8"-15" concert toms, 16" floor and a 22" kick with a double pedal. I have giggled with pieces of that monster Tama kit, but not the whole thing. PS: Love that " Big Blue" kit!
