Hi, Brian here! I was just looking for info on Fibes drums and I finally found a lot good info and it was all here. I still have my first kit, a 1970's Fibes fiberglass kit in a black and brown marble color. Many kits later and its still my favorite. Never thought of it as"vintage" until reseaching for info and trying to find out just how old it really is. I have three Pearl kits I used regulary for gigs and a Fibes fiberglass/chrome with a matching snare as well as my first Fibes set. Love the sound of the old Fibes fiberglass drums...

Great forum, so much info... Time to start reading!

Welcome! I have an early Fibes kit (14,16,18,24)that I found on Craigs list for 60.00. It was pretty beat up and rusty so I removed the metal (its a chrome wrap) from the 16" then decided to keep the wrap on the other drums. But I got a taste of re-wrapping with stainless steel, it was fun.

Please post some pics of your kit. If you need help with that there is a thread on posting pictures in the General Drum Question section.

Here is a pic of mine, I bought a snare drum that had been wrapped by some doh head and re-wrapped with new stainless steel. THe 16" floor tom is not in the pic, I didnt have legges for it at the time.
