for 2012 it's been real!
New Years Resolutions!!2012 Last viewed: 14 minutes ago
I plan on driving out to your neck of the woods and taking Kev out for lunch while the wife sneaks out his Aztec kit. Other than that ... :)
I'm seeking out only two kits, and they have to be very nice examples for me to pull the trigger. I'm seriously considering lightening my drums by two kits to make room for the other two.
I am working on my cymbals right now. This week, I've picked up a couple of very nice ones. I keep them in playing sets to go with styles. ... A light jazz set, a groove set, a classic set, etc.
I would love to put together a rogers kit Cleveland double bass drums 3 up two down kinda a remake of my 1966 kit and i want a 6and 1/2 arcolite to customize other than that i am enjoying my Ludwig Buddy Rich reissue with 26 inch bass drum so much I am like a kid in a candy store.....
My only drum related resolution is to seriously decide on which of my drum sets are the forever keepers, and which ones get sold off............eventually. See......I'm already waffling so much that I could be in the running for political office.
first, a happy new year to all on vdf. here's to a good one!
resolutions - i'm on a super saving mission. i want, no, NEED, a 402 supraphonic. a vintage model, non of this new stuff. Laughing H
also, a new set of pies. i have wuhan in mind. and i'm gonna recover my 80's Pearl, with Rowlux illusion film. i got some samples, and it is just the ticket.
i might even grow my hair again! Laughing H why not
oh, and a whole lot of Queen memorabilia wouldn't go amiss!! :D

Good health......
I am gonna try and learn every song from the Appetite For Destruction album so when my buddies from work finally show up, I can sell them on getting a regular jam session going!
Also, I want to put together a monster Tama kit focusing on quantity over quality.
Finally, I am considering cashing in my 401K to pay someone to bribe Vito Bratta to rejoin White Lion for a reunion tour with a couple new songs!Cool1

First off - Happy New Year gentlemen! This is a fun thread.
My primary drum resolution is to begin, and finish, building my NOS copper Slingerland snare. I'm warning you all now, I'm going to need help with that one :).
I also need to find time for a band, or at least more practice time, again. 2011 was a busy year. My wife and I had our first child, a beautiful little girl, and we also bought our first home; I also began a new job. Between home improvement projects, bottle feedings, and work, there was little time for anything, let alone drumming. I hope that begins to change a little this year :)
Best of wishes for a happy and healthy new year guys! Happy drumming and restoration!
James
I have mixed feelings about the year just past and I hold out high hope for the one that's in front of us. It was a very good drum year for me, lots of great kits, but a deeply painful personal one because my son was very badly and permanently injured in a motorcycle accident in July.
2011 has been a long, strange trip. I turn toward the new year with a positive attitude and tremendous hope.
John
