Is nickel over brass hardware really rare? Hardly see any of it
on the bay when looking for some replacment tension rods.

It depends on the era, but I would say NO it is not rare. You should post a few photos on the wanted section with all of the measurements.
I'm sure someone has it here.

[COLOR="DarkRed"]Well, I mean...it's rare today. Easy to get new replacment hardware in chrome, brass, or even black chrome, but nickel...nope, not easy.
But there is a lot of vintage hardware in nickel. problem is. oftentimes the sellers don't know or don't discern it....
I agree, best bet is to post here what it is you need.....then set up a custom search on eFlay or something...[/COLOR]

Yeah, some hardware on bay looks like it might be NOB and the sellers don't
even realize it.
