Is it a Premier? =====> NOIs it a Drouyn? =====> NOIt is....(drum roll please)........An early 50s Olympic floor tom- Ivory lacquered- 16" in diameter (not sure yet if it is pre-international), 16" depth- 7 lugs- with 2 out of 3 floortom brackets (no legs)- internal tone control- some wear and tear, but nice sounding drumLet's see if we get along together ;-)
It`s Premier, because they own the Olympic trademark now.
It`s unfortunately altered.
If it were a part of an Olympic Ten kit from 50/51 it would not have legs with that badge and those lugs. It will stand on a tripod style holder.
Olympics first FT was with the Ten kit only, with those lugs and hoops/clips. If you have a tripod it was one. Not anymore.
Olympics second FT was a totally different lug, but introduced that leg mount with legs.
It`s on yours in the wrong drilling placement for factory. So is the other pic. with the badge.
In 53 you could order that drum and two separate tom toms smaller, and add to them. No mountings and they called it the value pac.
So, the FT you have with that badge and those lugs, is not to be drilled for leg brackets and if it was factory, their drilling gave the drum balance by locating the brackets up at least 5 inches more inline with the bottom of the badge than either pic. in this thread.
I wouldn`t stand behind original too far........
I think you`ll get along with it just fine, Dallas made good hardware and shells.
