I picked this up today at a local music store. I've seen it on display on a top shelf there for a few years now. I asked to buy it but was told it's not for sale. Today I asked and walked out with it. I don't know the value and that's not why I bought it....I just think it's kind of a fun thing to have sitting around with all my other drums. It's going to be fun cleaning it up.
Noble and Cooley Toy Drums Last viewed: 4 hours ago
yeah, a friend of my Dad's came by the house when I was like 16 and said " I got this drumset you might want in the back of my truck" I was so stoked, come to find one of these all beat up and dirty in the back of his old dodge... we let my lil sister beat it up for a couble of months and then I think we took the shells to the recycle center. I think it said black pearl or black magic on the bassdrum head.
I remember being suprised it was made by N&C at the time the only drum of theirs I had seen was the Zildjian bronze snare which was very high priced

Noble&Cooley made (make?) lots of toy drums. I think Animal of The Muppets TV show played one of their kits...or appeared to be playing it. I've got two toy drum interests now.....one little snare & this kit. Maybe I've started another hobby..........oh nooooooooo......
I imagine there were....and still are....a lot of these toy drums being beat up and taken off to be recycled. The great thing is that many life-time drummers out there started off on a toy drum/kit similar to these.
Yesterday I received, in the mail from Noble and Cooley, two 2002 Noble and Cooley catalogs and a copy of the lessons tape (VHS) that was sold with the kit. I thought my drums were older but - there they are in the catalog.
Nice of them to do that. I''ll tuck the items away with the drums. 50 or 60 years from now....long after my lifetime....someone will "collect" this little kit and be very happy the catalog and tape are with it. Even though it's not the "original" tape that did accompany the drum kit at time of purchase...it's still nice to have it.
makes a cool drum decoration.
