Hi everyone! I am new...

I've got some vintage drums that some of you may find interesting. They were my dad's before he passed away just over a year ago. Although I never quite had the passion for percussion as he did...It would be nice to know a little about some of his vintage pieces.

I would be lying if I said I wouldn't consider selling some of them (he has an entire room full of vintage percussion instruments), but its not my main concern. Again I don't know much about them, if you guys could give me any information about them and perhaps the value.

"Leedy & Ludwig" Humberto Morales Timbales

These are pretty scratched up, but I didn't see any dents. I know of "Leedy" drums, but these are older. I do not know the year.

Latin Percussion Bongos

These may be on the newer side, I cannot tell.

Conertone? Banjo

Not percussion, I know, but interesting indeed. This is a Banjo of some sort. All I can see regarding the makers is a "Concertone" logo on the back. I've seen older and similar ones like this, but the illustrations on it are extremely unique. Apparently it has to do with The University of Oklahoma. Any input on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

For now thats all I will post, although I have much more. I've got some really neat pictures of my dad playing with some respected musicians. When I have some more time I will gladly share them with you.

Welcome to the board, some cool stuff you have! The L&L timbales are from the early 50s and are the best ever made. They used to go for a fortune, but lately I've seen them for around the $500-1000 range. Hold onto them though, the economy is having a huge effect on vintage drum sale prices right now, these will rebound for sure.

The congas appear to be an LP original model and a Valje that is either painted to match or someone fiberglassed over it. Nice drums, the LP was made in Palisades Park factory in the 70s, these are the most sought after of the LP congas. The Valje is top notch, handmade by Tom Flores in California, I have not seen any fiberglass Valjes though that I know of, is it wood thats painted or is it fiberglass?

Can't help you on the banjo, though I love that artwork on it!

The timbales you have there look in great condition they are from mid 1952-1954 model last ones company made before they discontinued.

The timbales complete with original stand are worth $1200.00

without stand $800-900.00 there then you need right candidate.

Lp conga thats depending on condition and model $250-300.00

The Valje there you have money still a Vintage Valje can go $500-750.00 in good condition

LP bongos you are look at 250.00 depending on condition.

I have seen that banjo, and heard it. I live in Norman, but that is one fine instrument. Keep it, play it, give to your grandchildren.
