Nylon Washer under Tension Rods? - Ludwig Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Does anyone know if Ludwig built the Acrolite drum with nylon washers under the tention rods instead of the brass washer? And if so, when they started doing this?

Thanks,

I have a Classic Maple from 1998 and it has plastic washers. I don't think the early 90's drums had them. I would assume sometime in the mid 90's that they started using them?

ludwig started using nylon washers in 97. that's when i bought my kit new once they went to the new 8 ply shells. i assume this was only for the high end drums.

as for the acro's, i had a somewhat recent blackro and it had nylon washers.

but the 80's/90's acro's i've had came with metal washers.

Cool. I have a 1980 Acrolite with nylon washers, but only on one side. Obviously someone changed them at some point. Why they did it on the resonant side and not the batter side is beyond me, but thats what they did,

Thanks for all the info.

Regards,
