Oaklawn Camco bebop kit Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I just got this Camco bebop kit with matching snare - it's basically my "holy grail" kit and I am beyond blessed that I found it. A good friend of mine turned me onto it - it was sitting in a Las Vegas guitar shop. 18/12/14/14 natural maple Oaklawn, clear 6ply Jasper shells, all original. Even the rubber tips on the legs and spurs are original. I gave it a very gentle cleaning which is all that was needed. They sound great - I have them tuned up on the high side but haven't had time to experiment in the way of heads and tunings too much. And now to work on my jazz chops!

I took my set of LA Camcos out on my last tour and plan on doing so on an upcoming tour . They performed perfectly with no problems.

Beautiful set of drums... rare.

Not to side-line you, but... for my money, Stephen Stills for all his many talents, is one of the most underrated guitar players in the business. Everybody knows his voice, his writing skills etc. but he's rarely acknowledged for being one of the finest guitar players out there. It must have been a blast backing him up on drums. Was Midnight Rider and Treetop Flyer part of the set-list, or was it all new material? That MoFo can play! I envy you... :D

I apologize for not really knowing who's who here at VDF but wow what a privilege to chat with a drummer associated with a legend (Stills). Glad to read the world will be hearing these Camcos live at some point. And yes John, Stephen is very underrated. I'm a David Crosby fan myself and can't wait til he comes to my town in June. Gotta love VDF! 😊
