Oaklawn Camco resto Last viewed: 0 seconds ago

Here is my latest project, a keeper Oaklawn kit in vintage gold sparkle. All 6 ply Jasper shells - 22,12,13,16. I plugged all tom mount and tone control holes to "revirginize" them. They sound like nothing else and tune up high or low with ease.

Are thew rewrapped?

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Very nice and a tasteful restore. I certainly do not put down a re wrap when the results are better than what you started with and certainly that is the case.

Kudos

Thanks Manny!

The toughest part about these projects is actually the badge re-installation. Nobody makes grommets with an extremely small flange like Camco used. I end up having to modify grommets to make them work. This time I wasn't happy with the result and found a way to reuse the original grommets. So far, so good. Looking forward to playing these on a gig.

Can I ask what front bass drum head you used? If that is a Remo head, how did you remove the Remo logo?
