Oh my!!! What a waste of a set..At 2,300.00 the price should be maybe 1,000.00 tops....Mikey

and half of that $1000 is the Big R Dyna and two unmolested floor toms.

Or is that a Super Ten? Ploughman?

Not sure about the price, but the actual kit looks pretty killer to me! Of course, I would rather see a dime a dozen modern kit being used to create something of this nature.......

Wow! It's the new Rogers Lunar Landing Module. That is so wrong on many levels.

So what exactly has been butchered? Are we assuming these were virgin bass drums?Very possible-and the mounted toms are supposed to be swivo's?Odd that the owner opted for bass mounted tom mounts as opposed to a floor stand. He gained very little by this. All the rest of the Memri-Lok stuff,at least it's brand correct.Any guesses as to the actual vintage of the script drums?9/72?

I agree, could be worse - he could have used pearl mounts. Still, waaay overpriced. Clear pinstripe on the snare? Bet that sounds good... LoLoLoLo

After going over the photos.I think it's two set's made into one.The bass drum on the left you will see the tom mount and the "L" arm cymbal mount these are swivo. Also the bass drum on the right i only see a swivo mount for a tom.So the guy added the Memri-Lok mounts to the bass drums i guess he could not fine the right mounts?...I would guess that maybe the 13's and 16"s and bass drums are late 1960's if i recall right Rogers did not offer this finish in the 70's..The three small tom's and snare are big badge Rogers..To bad he did not post any of the badges on the bass drums or toms then again maybe the set is a re-wrap?....Mikey

I picked up a 6.5" COB Dyna at a drum show that had a new pinstripe as a batter. It actually didn't sound too bad. It was obviously set up for heavy hitting, and the pinstripe reduced a lot of the brightness of the brass shell. Not to my liking for the orchestral work I needed it for, so I mounted a coated Remo Ambassador. Still, I could see the rock guys liking the throaty sound of that pinstripe on a deep snare.

The great Cozy Powell used Pinstripes on his snare during the Black Sabbath "Headless cross" and "TYR" albums (also on the 1999 Russian tour) and.... Boy! That drum sounded soooo good!
