I hate you and love you all at the same time sir! :DNice job!I'm also on the hunt for a WFL 16'' floor in WMP...
I thought you would Chime in....!..lolol
Seen yr post earlier about needing some hardware..
For a similar kit...
Kelly.
No, it`s a Super Classic, but even with that date stamp (57), I`m thinking late 40`s with that badge.
It's Funny you say that...
but originally she told me her granddad said...
He bought the kit New from a store when he was about 20/..
He just turned 80 this year, so that would place it at about 1955/?
After checking here on the badges info....it's clearly the 55/59 WFL badge..
Both the snare & tom (stamps) are clearly visible ...
The bass drum is faded...but with some lighting...visible.
Snare ...sounds Killer..
I see a damper, badge, throw, in that order, Tommy`s Rich snare does not have the tone control left of the badge.
Yr right..
I just checked here on the snare site..
And there's a pic of Tommy P's WFL WMP snare..
Mine is the Exact same, but Tommys doesn't have a muffler...?
However I'm guessing,..
the seller is the original owner of these drums since Brand new..So it's most likely that he ordered it with...?
*The rack Tom ...doesn't have ...!
What do you think.?
Part of the agreement in buying these...
Is that I have 2 gigs coming up..(1) outdoors..big Harley ride...& (1) at a seniors home...
I'm too use this kit (gonna bring my Rogers WMP 14" Flr Tom to fill in the void)..
And send him a video/sound clips using his old kit..
He's a pure Jazz drummer...so he would like to hear some folk/Rock/comtempary...
I'm more then honoured to do so...I know that in another 30/40 yrs..I'll be in His shoes.!
Seller`s looking for a time capsule.....
Your right, I overlooked the "Co." missing on your badges.
The tone control don`t show up til 59 or so and I wonder if Ludwig even had it in 57. could have been ordered or aftermarket.
You have a very nice piece of history .
And KILLER hats.....
Think I'm in the running for a late 50s WFL WMP Flr Tom like EricP.....lolololol...
Let the games begin...lolololol

I agree that it was most likely special ordered. They did have the mufflers and used them on many of the marching drums.
Mike
Well, Put some mileage on these drums last nite...(have a dble header coming up this Sat)
Thought to give these a "test run" at a local open mic nite that my lead singer hosts.
The snare is a friggin Beast..for every style I threw at it...she Killed it..
The bass drum was way too ringly & sustainly for me...
(gonna replace the heads & maybe a pillow)..
The rack Tom was fantastic...also brought my rogers 14" WMP Flr Tom with me..!
Had a few old timers up to play a few & they ALL loved it...(they were all 60/65 yrs old).
Apparently this was the kit to have back in the early 60s...lolol
I'm very very pleased with it....Esp,the snare...!
I fell in love after only 5mins...with NO adjustments or dampeners etc...
Now if only I could find the Flr Tom..!
