I was an early bidder, but stopped when I realized that the pictures look just like the top of my workbench.

Well, the wife didn't seem too impressed with the mop I got her for her birthday last year, so this year I thought I'd spend a little more on her... seriously though, my wife's been very patient with my drum collecting shenanigans thankfully, but this purchase would definitely require some serious shplaynin'.

My guess is someone has seen a part or parts that they've been looking for and decided they want to win this auction. $200 or $300 is not much when you need a part(s) to complete a special project and they're right in front of you...on Z Bay. I could be wrong.

...but

I've been there and it is a great feeling to find what you're looking for. The kind of money bid here is nothing next to that feeling. A lot of us here probably can relate.

It looks just like the box of junk I left in my parent's basement. Literally. I see more Slingerland than Ludwig. Maybe the guy raided my folks' house while they were at church.

EDIT: Okay, upon closer inspection, I've gotta admit that 5" pc. of heater hose is pretty dang nice.

There's a long screw with about ten washers in that pile that have to be worth at least two wooden nickles.;)

I think that Mrs. Folgers had a couple kilos of Coke in the bottom of that can!..."the richest, most aromatic kind". Cool1

I also think it was shill bidding. Two months ago I won an auction for a box of parts from a guy that was shutting down his small drumshop. I paid $42.00

for the following:

2 new NickelWorks throws & butts

5 used NickelWorks throws & butts, plus parts for 3 others

1 new Pearl style throw & butt

143 new brass tube lugs various sizes & plating

500+ new t-rods various sizes & plating

1000+ new lug screws various sizes

20 new chrome tail light lugs

20 new chrome bowtie mini lugs

Plus a huge assortment of vintage bass t-rods, brass timpani tensioner's & some crap I don't even know what the hell it is.

The guy had to ship it in 3 boxes & together they weighed over 70 pounds. Not bragging, just comparing a small box & coffee can of crap that went for $300 with the above list I got for $42. I checked the retail value on just the new stuff that I got and it was over $700...there's something wrong here! Anyone under the impression that pooder has opened up a new location?
